Why NCERT Is Non-Negotiable
Roughly 85-90% of Biology questions in NEET are drawn directly or very closely from the NCERT textbook — including diagrams, footnotes and even italicised lines. Coaching modules and reference books are useful for practice, but your primary source of truth must remain NCERT, read line by line, at least three times before the exam.
The 90-Day Breakdown
Days 1–30: First Complete Read-Through
- Cover one chapter a day across Botany and Zoology, alternating to avoid fatigue.
- Highlight diagrams and make one-page visual notes per chapter — Biology rewards visual memory.
- Attempt chapter-end NCERT exercises immediately after reading.
Days 31–60: Targeted Practice & Weak-Area Mapping
- Take a chapter-wise test after every 2–3 chapters and log your score in a tracker.
- Any chapter below 70% accuracy goes on your "red list" for a dedicated re-read.
- Start solving previous 10 years' NEET Biology questions, chapter-wise.
Days 61–90: Full Revision & Mock Simulation
- Revise your one-page notes daily — not the full textbook again.
- Attempt one full-syllabus Biology mock every 3 days under exam conditions.
- Spend the final 10 days purely on your red-list chapters and diagram-based questions.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
Don't chase reference books before finishing NCERT twice. Don't skip "boring" chapters like Biotechnology Applications or Human Health & Disease — they're high-yield and low-effort. And don't leave diagram labelling for the last week; NEET regularly tests labelled diagrams from Plant Anatomy, Human Reproduction and the Excretory System.
Follow this plan consistently and Biology stops being your most unpredictable section — it becomes your most reliable one.
